Forsey and Son Turns 80!

80th Poster
To mark Forsey and Son turning 80 in 2026, we have organised a sponsored walk and cycle between all our offices.

2026 marks a very special milestone for Forsey and Son, as we have been caring for local families for 80 years. For four generations we have been in the heart of Somerset, with a diverse team supporting bereaved families and it is our intention to celebrate this anniversary by hosting a number of events throughout the year. One of the biggest is something close to our hearts – a challenge that brings together our branches, our community and two charities doing extraordinary work locally.

Introducing: Cycle & Stroll — a journey between all our branches

In the work we do, we’re often alongside families at significant moments in life – supporting them through what can be the most difficult of journeys. For our 80th year, we wanted to undertake a very different kind of journey: one that is hopeful, active, and community-focused.

So this summer we’re setting off on Cycle & Stroll – a sponsored branch-to-branch route that starts in Doulting, continues to Somerton, on to Butleigh, and finishes in Glastonbury.

Over three days, members of our team will complete the route in three stages: one cycle leg and two walking legs. It’s a challenge, a celebration, and most importantly, a fundraiser for two causes we’re proud to support.

The route and dates (3 days / 3 stages)

Stage 1 — Cycle (18 miles)

(Please note: timings and route details are currently in planning and may be subject to change)

Why these charities?

We’ve chosen Dorothy House Hospice Care and Children’s Hospice South West because their work supports local families at some of the most difficult times in life. Both charities provide compassionate care, comfort and practical support – and we’re proud to fundraise for services that make such a meaningful difference across our community.

How you can support Cycle & Stroll

We’ll be fundraising via Give Wheel and we’ll be sharing the link through our website, social media channels and communications in the run-up to the event.

If you’re able to donate, every contribution helps – whether it’s the cost of a coffee or something more substantial. And if you can share the page with friends and family, it makes a huge difference to the reach of the fundraiser.

Come and cheer us on

If you spot us along the route, we’d love a wave and a word of encouragement. It will mean a lot to know the community is behind us as we link the places we serve – branch to branch – in celebration of 80 years of local care.

Thank you for supporting Forsey and Son Cycle & Stroll — and for helping us raise vital funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care and Children’s Hospice South West.
